چکیده

INTRODUCTION Although stents have improved the safety and efficacy of percutaneous coronary interventions, coronary stent thrombosis remains a serious complication. CASE PRESENTATION We present the case of a 64-year-old Caucasian man from Greece, with symptoms and electrocardiographic findings suggestive of acute inferior myocardial infarction, who complained of chest pain and rapidly developed cardiogenic shock 48 hours after primary percutaneous coronary intervention. CONCLUSION The most common cause of early bare-metal stent thrombosis is stent malapposition. Intravascular ultrasound is the preferred method to recognize predictors of coronary events that are not detected by angiography.

Simultaneous Thrombosis of Two Drug-Eluting Stents After Discontinuation of Dual Antiplatelet Therapy for a Day

Stent thrombosis is rare but can lead to potential severe consequence. The incidence is relative higher in drug-eluting sent than bare-metal stent implantation. Dual antiplatelet therapy is the major treatment to avoid early and late stent thrombosis. Simultaneous two stents thrombosis is rare. Although mechanical or/and procedure factors may predispose to stent thrombosis occurred, simultaneou...

Simultaneous subacute thrombosis of bare metal coronary stents in two different arteries early after clopidogrel cessation.

Coronary stent thrombosis is a rare event leading to ST segment elevation myocardial infarction and death. Although early thrombosis of drug-eluting and bare metal stents is relatively frequent, simultaneous thrombosis of bare metal coronary stents has rarely been reported. Here, we present a case of simultaneous subacute thrombosis of two bare metal stents in different coronary arteries ea...
